I am designing a program to work with women who are dealing with addiction and recovery (in Mobile, Ala.). I have always heard (and said to my students) that belly dance builds confidence, enhances self-esteem, is therapeutic, etc.
BUT does anyone know for sure if any studies have been done to support this assertion? I would like to know as it would be helpful for me to be able to present this information to the people who are in charge of the programs in which I will work.
Thank you,
ZD

Re: HELP! looking for formal studies, surveys re bellydance benefits
Sun, September 20, 2009 - 7:17 PMI'm not sure if there are any formal studies, but I think you could get a ton of personal testimonials about how bellydance has saved people's lives, marriages, etc.
I'm happy to discuss further if you are interested. Just email me at ishimmy4me@gmail.com
