Irondale, Alabama -- Devyani Dance Center Proudly announces it’s Grand Re-Opening!!
Three months ago, this internationally known studio suffered substantial flood damage and has since been closed for repairs and remodeling. Now it is reopening and will be better than ever!
Devyani Dance Center is Birmingham’s International Dance Culture Connection! Devyani offers classes such as American Tribal Style Belly Dance, Irish Dance, Flamenco, Hula, African dance, Indian dance, Ballet and even Yoga. This world dance center is sure to open your mind, body, balance, grace and strength to new possibilities.
Devyani’s grand re-opening is a weeklong event that starts on Saturday August 1st. From 10am to 3pm come explore drum solos with Aziza Nawal. Aziza was recently featured on IAMED's Belly-Dance-O-Rama video and has wowed audiences with her dynamic drum solo performances. She will be teaching a brand new exciting choreography featuring her signature technique and interpretation.
That evening at 7pm Devyani will host a hafla (party)! Live music, fire dances and some of the best bellydancers from all over the Southeast including world renown and Birmingham's own Devyani!
Devyani’s haflas are always a fun event, but this promises to be the best one yet! Tickets are $10. Get there when doors open at 6:30 to guarantee your spot.
Monday August 3rd – Friday August 7th 9am – 4pm Magic City Ballet’s Dance Camp. Guest teacher and choreographer Lisa Gibbs teaching Modern dance & Choreograpy/Improvisation. Also, Artistic Director Cynthia Mwenja teaching Vagavona-based classical ballet and dance history.
$125 for the week + $15 registration
Monday August 3rd and Thursday August 6th at 6:30 American Tribal Style Belly dance Sessions start
Friday August 7th Middle Eastern Drumming Beginner class starts at 6pm. Cost is $5.
